General procedure of inquiry handling of Pontoons

While doing marketing of pontoon we have to always visit a site location. Generally the site locations are at remote places in forest, Rural areas. And reservoir may be like Mine, Dam, River, Backwater of dam, Lake etc. The access to these sites are very difficult and we have to travel by a private vehicle and normally with customer.

Our brainstorming starts after seeing the site condition. We have to check some of the below points –

  1. Exact location of pontoon in water,
  2. Depth of water at the same location,
  3. Variation of the water level,
  4. Distance of the Pontoon location from Shore of the reservoir
  5. Bathometric survey report if available
  6. Soil report for anchoring purpose if available
  7. Condition of the shore whether it is steep or gradually decreasing
  8. Pontoon launching location

Our total design depends on above points. Whether pontoon is modular type or single, what should be the length of floating walkway, anchoring type, piping system etc. all are depend on these technical points. One important point is the quality of the water. It helps us to select the type of coating or material of the pontoon.

While discussing with customer we always find out the challenges faced by customer to construct the jack well for the pump house. Why he want pontoon? Whether it’s a temporary arrangement or permanent. How much time and fund is required for this project.

Type of the pump is generally decided by the customer as per his requirement. We also prefer the selection and procurement of pump should be by customer. So that he will get service or warranty of the pump directly from pump OEM.

By considering all above aspects we workout with concept drawing and overall size of the Pontoon. Also we provide budgetary offer to customer for his funding arrangement. Loyal customers workout internally and release order but some customer float inquiry in market based on our technical details to negotiate with us. Somtime we may losose order also. But 90% customers convience with our proposal.  This is the general procedure for any pontoon project. Its totally based on our experience.
